Oman and Brunei celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations

A reception was held in Muscat to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam. The event was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador at large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, and Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.

The reception, held at Al Bustan Palace Hotel, was also attended by Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Minister of Information, Dr Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, dignitaries, ASEAN Ambassadors and officials from Brunei.

In a speech to the event, Noralizan Abdul Momin, Brunei's Ambassador to Oman, spoke of the depth of relations between the two countries. She emphasised the mutual desire of both nations to further develop these relations, particularly in education, culture, investment and energy.

The event saw the unveiling of a commemorative logo symbolising the strength of diplomatic relations between Oman and Brunei. The logo’s design was inspired by the flags of the two countries and the number 40, signifying the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
