This has been established as a means of guidance, assistance and communication with all those using our services in the countries where the Embassy represents Oman.
It aims to clarify the applicable procedures and regulations as part of our commitment to the development and advancement of the services provided to the highest possible level.

Bilateral relations
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, Oman and Austria have enjoyed cordial relations characterised by mutual respect, cooperation and consensus in their positions on regional and international issues. The friendly relations between the two countries have helped lay the foundations for cooperation in the economic, cultural and health fields.
The role of the Embassy is to increase prospects for further cooperation between the two friendly countries – Austria is considered an important partner for Oman and there is a serious desire on both sides to enhance cooperation in many fields.
Consular services
The consular section of the Embassy provides a range of services including granting entry visas to the Sultanate, the legalisation of documents and certificates and issuing passports both for Omani citizens who have lost their passports and for the Omani children born in Austria. The Embassy also provides assistance to Austrian companies which would like to do business in Oman. More information is available in the following links:
Key objectives
The main objectives of Oman’s embassy in Austria include:
- Promoting friendly relations between Oman and Austria
- Protecting the interests of Oman and Omani citizens in Austria
- Enhancing economic, commercial, cultural and scientific cooperation
- Providing public services for Omani citizens in Austria
- Representing Oman in international organisations based in Austria
Political and diplomatic cooperation
Oman and Austria exchange views on issues of common concern through regular political consultation and bilateral dialogue between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.
Both the Omani and Austrian missions to international organisations in Vienna, coordinate their positions on issues addressed in international meetings and they coordinate reciprocal support for their candidates for positions in these international organisations.
Trade and investment
The Embassy works to promote investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman and to contact potential investors to facilitate communication with the competent authorities and potential partners in Oman. For more information, please click here.
The Embassy promotes the export of commodities manufactured in Oman and works to find a market for them in Austria.
The Embassy also encourages Omani firms to participate in the commercial exhibitions taking place in Austria.
Cultural, educational and scientific exchanges
Oman works to build bridges of friendship with countries through cultural exchange. The Embassy is translating this into a tangible reality by participating in cultural events that are held in Austria in order to highlight Oman’s rich heritage.
The Embassy follows up on the educational attainments of Omani students studying in Austria and works to facilitate their stay in Austria.
