Foreign Minister at meeting of Global Coalition to defeat ISIS

Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, took part today in a ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS.

The meeting dealt with the continuing global effort to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations,  in line with the objectives of the United Nations and its Charter to maintain international peace and security.

The meeting agreed that to combat terrorism and hate ideology, it remains vitally important to show collective responsibility, consolidate cooperation and to exchange experience and knowledge. The meeting also agreed on the importance of developing networks of empowerment to support the stability and prosperity of societies and peaceful coexistence between them.

The meeting, held in Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and attended by representatives of various states as well as regional and international organisations, was addressed by the US secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The meeting was also attended by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Oman's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia; Ambassador Khalid Almuslahi, Head of the Minister’s Office, Ambassador Sheikh Humaid Almaani, Head of the Foreign Ministry's International Affairs Department and other officials.
