The Pavilion of the Sultanate of Oman at the Davos World Economic Forum in Switzerland provided a strategic international platform to showcase national successes and the economic, technological, and social advances underway in.

It highlighted major current and future projects as well as sustainable investment opportunities, reinforcing Oman’s postion as a leader of economic and environmental transformation in the Middle East.

Oman's Minister of Economy, Dr Said bin Mohammed Al Saqri, who led Oman's delegation to the Forum, said its participation reflects the Sultanate's active role in strengthening international cooperation and its commitment to overcome global challenges and to drive the transition towards sustainable growth.

Oman's participation, he added, aimed to highlight the development achieved under Oman Vision 2040, a national roadmap to secure wide ranging sustainability. Its key goals include promoting community participation, empowering women and young people, supporting the private sector and entrepreneurs, and accelerating comprehensive development focused on economic diversification and innovation.

Dr Al Saqri explained that Oman’s Pavilion underscored the growing relationship between the Government of Oman and the World Economic Forum, fostering innovative visions for sustainable development.

The Pavilion facilitated discussions on priority topics, promoted cooperation with international bodies, and positioned Oman as an attractive investment and tourism destination. It highlighted Oman’s attractive business environment and promising investment opportunities.

The Pavilion focused on sustainable urban development projects like Sultan Haitham City and the Yiti Sustainable City, as well as the opportunities presented by national programmes supporting innovation, the digital economy, renewable energy and green hydrogen.

Dr Saqri noted that these initiatives are vital in addressing climate change by reducing carbon emissions to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

The Pavilion’s design reflected Oman’s unique culture, with its façades and corridors displaying Oman’s new brand identity.

The Pavilion featured modern facilities offering dedicated spaces for government bodies and private sector institutions to participate in the Forum. It facilitated bilateral meetings, connecting government officials, decision-makers, and international investors, thanks to its five meeting rooms for official and private discussions, a dedicated space for private companies and entrepreneurs, and a multipurpose hall for events.

Throughout the Davos forum, Oman’s Pavilion hosted panel discussions, workshops and presentations focusing on innovation, investment opportunities, and projects under Oman Vision 2040, covering  renewable energy, green hydrogen and sustainable cities.

The Pavilion was busy throughout the Forum with a string of meetings highlighting Oman’s promising economic opportunities with leading global investors and companies.

Dr Al Saqri met with Omani partners participating in the Forum, emphasising the importance of collaboration and using the Forum as a platform to promote Oman’s investment and development opportunities. He stressed the need for Omani participants, whether public or private sector, to present a unified image of Oman’s promising investment environment, focusing on strategic sectors like renewable energy, technology, tourism, and logistics.

The Davos World Economic Forum is among the most prominent international economic events, bringing together government leaders, public and private institutions and decision makers to develop strategies for inclusive growth and propose innovative solutions to future challenges, particularly climate change, technological development, and social equity.

The 2025 forum focused on transitioning to renewable energy, green economies, and sustainable innovations. Its central theme was reducing reliance on traditional energy sources to preserve the environment and limit carbon emissions.
