Bilateral relations
The Omani-Uzbek relationship is an old relationship that extends far back in history. There was interaction between Oman and, as it was then known, “the country beyond the river”, of which the modern Republic of Uzbekistan forms an important part.
There were trade exchanges along the Silk Road towards the flourishing Omani ports, through which Omani products such as frankincense and copper were exported, along with other goods including goods re-exported from the African continent.
In the modern era, diplomatic relations between Oman and Uzbekistan were established on April 22nd, 1992. These relations are characterised by active cooperation in all fields.
