The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America also participated in the meeting, which the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations for Yemen attended as a guest.
The summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was attended by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries; the President of the United States, Joe Biden; His Majesty King Abdallah II of Jordan; President Abdel Fattah el Sisi of Egypt and Mustafa al Kazemi, Prime Minister of Iraq.
His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes for good health, happiness and long life, praying to God Almighty to restore this blessed occasion to them and to the peoples of their brotherly countries.
Oman's government has successfully helped mediate the release of a number of nationals detained in Yemen, following requests for help by several governments.
In his cables to leaders of brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere sentiments along with his best wishes of good health, happiness and a long life to them and their countries’ people wishing them further progress, prosperity and welfare.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of bilateral cooperation, partnership opportunities, and ways to enhance and explore more areas of economic and scientific cooperation.
