Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi chaired Oman’s delegation to the meeting ahead of the 32nd Arab Summit.
Oman appreciated the role played by many parties in reaching the agreement, notably the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America.
The message was received by His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister and Personal Representative of His Majesty.
The Ministry thanked both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt for their help in carrying out the evacuation operation.
The meeting was part of a consultation and coordination process between the participating countries.
The statement was issued following the visit of the Syrian Foreign Minister to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was reached during a meeting at the General Secretariat of the GCC in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
In his speech Oman's Foreign Minister emphasised the commitment of the GCC to support peace, security and stability, both regionally and globally in order to secure the benefits of development and prosperity for all.
