Minister participates in joint Gulf Jordan ministerial meeting
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi participated in the seventh joint ministerial meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The meeting was held in Mecca, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the chairmanship of Abdullah Ali Al Yahya, Foreign Minister of the State of Kuwait and current chair of the Ministerial Council. Also in attendance were the Foreign Ministers of the GCC member states and Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, GCC Secretary General.
The meeting discussed the strong and strategic relations between the GCC states and Jordan and ways to enhance cooperation and deepen coordination in various fields.
Regional and international developments were also reviewed and views exchanged of on the topics on the agenda. The participants also explored ways to strengthen joint coordination to promote international security and peace.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed Almaskari, Head of the Ministry's department for the GCC and Region; Salim Mohammed Albusaidi, Oman's Consul General in Jeddah, and a number of Foreign Ministry officials.
