Switzerland : Omani inventors win top awards

Oman's permanent delegation to the United Nations in Geneva offered its congratulations to the two Omani entrants who won top prizes at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.

Biologist Sumaiya Al Siyabiya won the Grand Prize for a process that breaks down microplastics present in aquatic ecosystems. This innovative solution combines biology and nanotechnology.

Razan Al Kalbaniyah won the silver prize for inventing a paint based on a natural compound that absorbs X-rays.

The Exhibition, the largest global event for inventions, saw fierce competition among more than 1,000 innovations representing 40 countries.
