It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official page of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in the Republic of Singapore.
This page reflects our commitment to communicate with the public by all available means to provide all possible assistance to them.
The Embassy works to strengthen and develop the existing bilateral relations between Oman and Singapore in all fields and at all levels. It also serves Omani citizens visiting Singapore and provides advice to them.
There is solid evidence for the strength and depth of Omani-Singaporean relations. One example is the historic Muscat Street, in the heart of Singapore. Another is the Jewel of Muscat ship, in the Sentosa Island Maritime Museum in Singapore.
Users of this official page can access useful information pertaining to the existing bilateral relations between the two countries. The page is also a focal point for users to access the services of the Embassy and communicate with its various internal divisions.

Key objectives

Consular services
The Embassy provides a range of consular services for Omani citizens visiting Singapore, as well as for Singaporean citizens and permanent residents in Singapore who wish to visit the Sultanate of Oman. These services include:
- Endorsement of all civil, commercial, educational and medical documents and certificates. (For more information please click here.)
- Issuing laissez-passer passports for Omani citizens in case they have lost or damaged their passport, as well as for new-borns. (For more information please click here.)

Bilateral relations
The bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore are characterised by their strength, durability and historical depth, as well as their diversity in many fields.
The visit of his Majesty Sultan Haitham to Singapore in December 2023 heralded a new phase in relations between Oman and Singapore.
Diplomatic relations were established between Oman and Singapore on February 21st 1985. Oman’s Embassy in the India initially took care of the country's interests in Singapore until the Sultanate established a Consulate General in Singapore in May 2011. The Republic of Singapore established a Consulate General in Muscat in August 2013.
In December 2022, the two countries agreed to elevate the diplomatic representation between them to Embassy level, starting from January 1st 2023.
The two countries have distinguished, friendly, cordial relations, as they look to each other as a model of moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence between nations.
Political and diplomatic relations
The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore are constantly working at the highest levels to strengthen their political and diplomatic relations.
Through previous bilateral consultations, which were developed into a “Strategic Dialogue” between Oman and Singapore in December 2022, both countries exchange their thoughts and viewpoints on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
They also work together with other parties to strengthen and promote security and peace.
Economic and investment cooperation
Economic and commercial cooperation between Oman and Singapore has grown remarkably year after year, characterised by progressive expansion to include various vital sectors.
This has led to a significant increase in the volume of trade between them in recent years and several Omani and Singaporean companies have established branches in each other's country.
Oman is seeking to establish an economic and investment partnership with Singapore, which will contribute significantly to the economies of both countries and enhance the flow of goods, services, experience and competencies between them.
This process was given a major boost by the visit of His Majesty Sultan Haitham to Singapore in December 2023.
The discussions held during that visit identified key areas for a new phase of economic cooperation between and Singapore.
These include collaboration in the development and application of new technologies, promotion of start-ups and new SMEs, development of smart cities and freezones and cooperation in the fields of education, healthcare, and tourism.
This new phase will build on the various agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two countries, through the Free Trade Agreement between Singapore and the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and through the incentives and investment opportunities provided by Oman Vision 2040,
Cultural and scientific cooperation
The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore cooperate in the fields of education, training, and qualification programmes, under the many agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between them.
Through the Regional Institute for Infrastructure Development, established by both countries in 2012, specialised training courses, webinars, workshops and courses, are offered in diverse fields and at all levels. Many Omani doctors also benefit from fellowship programmes offered by well-known health institutions in Singapore.
In 2010, in recognition of the historical relations between the two countries, His late Majesty Sultan Qaboos, gifted the Jewel of Muscat ship to the friendly people of Singapore.
The Jewel of Muscat had sailed from the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Singapore as an embodiment of the cultural and historical communication between peoples. It is now displayed at the Maritime Museum on Sentosa Island in Singapore. For more information about the Jewel of Muscat click here.
In 2011, Muscat Street was reopened in the heart of Singapore after undergoing redevelopment. The street, which has been so named since 1909, was decorated with arches, wall paintings and other aesthetic touches inspired by Oman's authentic heritage.
