Sayyid Shihab departs for Saudi Arabia GCC-ASEAN summit

On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs left Muscat today for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to head Oman’s delegation at the GCC-ASEAN Summit, due to be held in Riyadh tomorrow.

The summit will provide a platform for ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) leaders and the GCC (The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf) states to discuss ways to substantiate their partnership and exchange views on matters of mutual interest and concern. The key outcomes of the summit will include the issue of a joint statement from the ASEAN-GCC Summit and on the ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation for 2024-2028.

His Highness is accompanied by an official delegation comprising Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister; Dr Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Economy Minister of and His Highness Sayyid Faisal Turki Al Said, Oman's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
