Sayyid Fahd arrives in Kuwait to head Oman’s delegation to Gulf Summit
On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, arrived in the State of Kuwait to lead Oman's delegation to the 45th Summit of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) leaders, scheduled to take place later today.
At the Airport in Kuwait, Sayyid Fahd was warmly received by His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait.
Also present to welcome him were: His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, Crown Prince of Kuwait, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, His Excellency Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC, and various Kuwaiti officials.
Upon arrival in Kuwait, Sayyid Fahd issued a press statement as follows:
“It gives me great pleasure to convey the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to his brothers, the leaders of the GCC states, on the occasion of the 45th Summit of GCC Leaders in the brotherly State of Kuwait. His Majesty extends his sincere wishes to Kuwait’s leadership and people for continued progress and prosperity, and to the summit for success in achieving its desired goals.
“Since its establishment, the GCC has accomplished significant achievements, including across economic, social, legislative, and scientific fields. It is essential to exert further efforts to safeguard these gains and strengthen cooperation and integration among the Gulf peoples, who share a common history.
“The rapid developments on the regional and international fronts necessitate an exchange of perspectives to reach a unified vision, coordinate positions, and identify the best ways to address emerging issues and challenges. This will enable the member states to focus on their developmental paths, aimed at serving their peoples and meeting the aspirations of successive generations.
“The Sultanate of Oman reaffirms its continuous support for the GCC's noble journey and expresses deep appreciation for Kuwait’s dedicated efforts in this regard. We pray to the Almighty to bless the brotherly people of Kuwait and all GCC nations with continuous prosperity, progress, and growth.
“May God grant us success.”
Accompanying Sayyid Fahd is an official delegation that includes Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi; Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saidi; Economy Minister, Dr Saeed bin Mohammed Al Saqri; Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr Saleh Amer Alkharusi, and Abdullah bin Khalfan Al Balushi, Head of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Private Office.
