Oman welcomes resumption of Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations
The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the joint statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the People's Republic of China to resume Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations and to reopen their embassies and representations within a maximum period of two months.
The tripartite statement also undertakes to activate the security cooperation agreement between them and the general agreement for cooperation in the field of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture, sports and youth.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry today, Oman expressed its hope that this step will contribute to strengthening security and stability in the region and to consolidating positive and constructive cooperation that benefits all peoples of the region and the world.
The Iranian Foreign Minister said the restoration of ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia will provide the two countries, the region and the Muslim world with huge possibilities (for more on this click here.)
