Peru opens Honorary Consulate in Oman
The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Peru was inaugurated in Ghala, Muscat, under the patronage of Dr Hanan bint Ibrahim Alshihi, Head of the Foreign Ministry's Americas Department.
Dr Alshihi said that the opening of the Honorary Consulate is of great importance in developing relations between Oman and Peru.
Carlos Zapata Lopez, Peru's non-resident Ambassador to Oman, praised the efforts made by the Sultanate to develop relations between the two friendly countries.
He said that the opening of the office is a fundamental step towards enhancing relations between Oman and Peru, emphasising the importance of increasing trade, economic, and investment exchanges.
The opening ceremony was attended by Maqbool Hussain bin Musa Al Lawati, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Peru in Muscat, representatives from the Foreign Ministry, and a number of business executives.
