Foreign Minister pays tribute to late Emir of Kuwait

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency, Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, has offered his sincere condolences and sympathy to the Al-Sabah family and the government and people of Kuwait, over the death of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, late Emir of the State of Kuwait.

Sayyid Badr said that it was with deep feelings of sadness that he received the news of the death of the late Emir

“His Highness had a prominent role in shaping  Kuwait’s internal policy and the features of its regional and international cooperation. Since assuming the reins of power in September 2020, he has made continuous efforts to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries and he has been supportive of the work of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Arab cooperation as a whole,” he said.

The Minister spoke of the strong bilateral relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the sisterly State of Kuwait, praising the role played by the late Emir in the close relations between Oman and the Kuwait.

Relations between Oman and Kuwait are strong at all levels and deep-rooted and would remain an example to be emulated of how strong the ties between countries and peoples can be, he added.

“We are confident that Omani-Kuwaiti relations will continue to grow and become more  robust, deriving their strength and continuity from the common desire, wisdom and insight of the leadership of the two brotherly countries,” he said.
