Political Undersecretary holds meetings ahead of Non-Aligned summit
Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, held separate meetings with Vladimir Adolfo Franco Sousa, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Panama and Arini Wajewardena, Secretary of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting preparing for the two-day summit of Leaders and Heads of State of the Non-Aligned Movement, which begins tomorrow.
The two meetings reviewed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, and discussed the prospects for cooperation between Oman and Panama and Oman and Sri Lanka. There were also exchanges of views on regional and international developments.
The two meetings were attended by Ambassador Khalid bin Suleiman Baomar, Head of the International Organisations Department and Ambassador Dr Mohamed bin Awad Alhassan, Oman's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
