Bilateral relations
Franco-Omani relations are characterised by mutual understanding at the highest level as the two countries enjoy close historical relations dating back more than three centuries during which cooperative ties have been strengthened and trade relations have developed and gradually extended to political, military and cultural relations. On the political level, the partnership between the two countries is notable for the consensus of the two countries on a mutual vision concerning the stability of regional security and a conviction to settle disputes through dialogue in multilateral forums and in compliance with international law. The relations between the two countries are long-standing and throughout history they have never been marred by disputes.

Political and diplomatic cooperation
The Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic are working together to build strong and mutually beneficial bilateral relations between the two countries. Oman is also committed to working with France to promote the principle of dispute settlement based on dialogue to ensure peace and stability throughout the Middle East.
Trade and investment
The increasing trade exchanges between the Republic of France and the Sultanate of Oman leads to many large French companies operating in the Omani market in several economic fields reflecting the mutual trust between the Omani and French economies.
Cultural, educational and scientific exchanges
The Sultanate of Oman works to strengthen cultural cooperation with the French Republic. The number of Omani students and doctors granted scholarships in the French Republic is constantly increasing, as well as the number of French researchers interested in studying features of Omani culture, which demonstrates the development of cultural and scientific exchanges between the two countries.
