Political Undersecretary meets with Mongolia and UN Population Fund
Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, received in separate meetings Anand Amgalan, Director General of American, Middle Eastern, and Oceanic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, and later, Laila Baker, Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA); and Jocelyn Fenard, UNFPA Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
During the meeting with the Mongolian delegation, discussions focused on cooperation between Oman and Mongolia and ways to enhance it. Views were also exchanged on several regional and international issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ambassador Abdulaziz Alhousni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department, along with officials from the from Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For Mongolia, the meeting was attended by Bulgan Enkhtuvshin, Mongolia's non resident Ambassador to Oman, and the Director General's accompanying delegation.
The meeting with UNFPA representatives, discussed the Fund's mission and cooperation between Oman and the UNFPA in the fields of population, development, and health. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Dr Afkar Alfarsi, Head of the Ministry's Department of International Trade, Knowledge Economy, and Technology.
