Oman welcomes joint Saudi-Syrian statement

The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the joint Saudi-Syrian statement issued following the visit of Dr Faisal Al Miqdad, Foreign Minister of the Syrian Arab Republic, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

An Omani Foreign Ministry statement affirmed the Sultanate's support for all efforts made to return the Syrian Republic to its active role in the Arab world and to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis that preserves the unity, security and stability of the country.

The statement also offered support for Syrian state institutions to extend their control over all the Republic and so achieve security and stability in the region and prosperity for the people of Syria.
