Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi and Hossein Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a session of political consultations and talks at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran today.
During the session, the two sides discussed cooperation in trade, economic and cultural affairs, expertise exchange and investment opportunities to serve the joint interests of the two friendly countries.
The two sides welcomed the outcomes of the 19th session of the Omani-Iranian Joint Committee, which was held this month in Muscat under the chairmanship of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion from the Omani side and the Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade from the Iranian side.
At the political level, Sayyid Badr and his Iranian counterpart reviewed a range of issues and developments, particularly the Vienna talks on returning to the nuclear agreement “The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” (JCPOA). The two ministers underscored the plan's strategic importance within the context of enhancing regional and global security and stability.
