Opening of Oman's Embassy in Budapest

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Foreign Ministry, celebrated the official inauguration of its Embassy in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Khalid Almuslahi, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs, with the attendance of Levente Magyar, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.

Also present at the inauguration were officials from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, members of the Hungarian Parliament, a number of Arab and Islamic Ambassadors accredited to Hungary, business leaders and academics.

In his speech at the opening, Oman's Ambassador to Hungary, Mal Allah bin Mahmoud Al Balushi, praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Oman and Hungary. He spoke of the importance of the Embassy in strengthening diplomatic, economic and investment relations and about the continuous efforts being made to develop and expand these ties in the service of the two friendly countries’ mutual interest.

He reiterated Oman’s commitment to broadening avenues of cooperation with Hungary and to exchanging expertise in education, tourism and renewable energy, while  fostering stronger friendships and creating new opportunities for both countries.

In his speech, Levente Magyar, said that the opening of Oman’s embassy in Hungary marks a significant step, reflecting the desire of both countries' leaderships to deepen bilateral relations. He spoke of the strategic importance of this cooperation in promoting further integration and partnership in the economic, trade, and cultural fields, and how this contributes to stronger ties between the two nations.

Oman’s Embassy in Budapest has been designed with a modern and forward-thinking approach, making it the first “smart” Omani embassy. It employs advanced technology to enhance the work environment and processes, making it more efficient and sustainable to ensure high performance operations.
