Oman's Royal Opera House reaches out to the world
The Royal Opera House Muscat has launched ‘From our Stage to your Home’ – a new digital initiative presenting classical music to audiences in Oman and around the globe.
To launch the digital season a series of free concerts have been recorded, entitled ‘Pathways through Classical Music.’ The series explores the popular western classical repertoire and a range of new compositions from the region.
The three concerts comprise an opening programme presented by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, followed by an orchestral and choral concert with the Muscat Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Opera Choir Group, in their first performance at the Opera House.
The series will close with a special final concert performed by the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra. All three performances are conducted by Maestro Hamdan Al Shaeely.

Each concert has been pre-recorded on the stage at the Opera House, adhering strictly to the rules governing such proceedings as laid out by the Covid-19 Supreme Committee guidelines.
The audiences are invited to view the concerts online at home either on the dates they are streamed for the first time. The concerts will then be available to view via the Opera House’s online archives.
The first of the concerts, premiered on April 4th can be viewed here and here.
‘From our Stage to your Home’ is designed to appeal to a cross generational viewership who are free to enjoy the performances from the comfort of their own homes. It marks the beginning of a long-term programme.
The Royal Opera House Muscat hopes the project will offer up to both loyal and new listeners a series which celebrates the culture of classical music, supports the musical talent of Oman and shares this celebration with an audience which extends to every corner of the world.
