Omanis Everywhere

With a degree in fine art and art education from Sultan Qaboos University, Rawan spent three years teaching in Oman’s schools before creating Makan Studios. Makan Studios is an artist-run gallery offering art prints, supplies, workshops, exhibitions, and pop-up events.

Rawan’s art explores local cultural practices, what it means to be a khaleeji woman/girl, and how tradition and religion influence everyday life. Through her art and the community created at Makan Studios, she has significantly contributed to the region’s art scene.
