Competitive Freediver and Airfield Duty Officer at Oman Airport
Omar grew up in Sur on Oman’s eastern coast, hearing stories of his seafaring ancestors. Determined to follow in their footsteps and explore the ocean, he attempted freediving as a hobby in 2008.
Years later, Omar has won first place in international competitions and broken records in numerous categories. He encourages other freedivers to experience Oman’s waters and learn about the deep cultural heritage and marine biodiversity of the Sea of Oman.
