Dr Aiham Al Musalhi
Research Fellow in High Energy Physics
Dr Ayham achieved a DPhil in Particle Physics at Oxford University, UK. In his current role at University College London (UCL), he focusses on the direct detection of dark matter and other rare phenomena such as neutrinoless double beta decay, as part of the LUX- ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment.
Based over a kilometre underground in South Dakota, US, the LZ detector employs 10 tonnes of liquid xenon within a highly sensitive dual phase time projection chamber. Dr Ayham coordinates radioactive background modelling, and searches for new physics beyond the primary dark matter search.
