Ali is Oman’s most successful international footballer. Through his talent and unrelenting focus since early childhood, he became the first Omani to play football in Europe and the first Arab player to win the FA Cup.
He played a total 137 games with Oman’s national team and 327 games with other clubs, including Al Mudhaibi (Oman), Al Naser (Saudi Arabia), Lyn (Norway), Bolton (UK), Wigan (UK), Reading (UK), Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia), and West Bromwich Albion (UK).
