Marine Safety Officer
Ahmed started working as a Marine Inspector at Sohar Industrial Port Company in 2019. His role is to inspect ships and terminals, using tugs to manoeuvre, berth, and unberth the vessels in the port. He is a marine engineer by training, and also works as a Port Facility Security Officer.
Sohar Port is strategically located outside the Strait of Hormuz and with easy access to the markets of the Gulf and the Indian subcontinent. It is one of the world’s few ports with deep water jetties capable of handling the largest ships.
