Omani trade delegation visits Chinese city of Guangzhou
A large official trade delegation of Omani business leaders and entrepreneurs visited the Chinese city of Guangzhou to strengthen trade relations and explore avenues for economic and technological cooperation between Oman and China.
The visit included attending the Canton International Fair to review the latest products and technologies. The delegation also visited Huawei and several specialised factories to explore China's advanced technologies and discuss areas for future cooperation and partnerships.
Naif bin Hamad Fadel, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dhofar branch and head of the delegation, stated that the visit aimed to open new avenues for trade and economic cooperation, especially with the continuous growth of relations between Oman and China across various fields. He added that the visit also sought to identify advanced technologies that could enhance Oman’s promising economic sectors and provide Omani entrepreneurs with opportunities to expand their businesses and open new markets.
Hamad bin Salem Al Bathari from the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, who was part of the delegation, considered the visit an opportunity to support SMEs by gaining new expertise, particularly in the fields of technological innovation and manufacturing. He explained that the authority is keen to provide opportunities to develop skills and strengthen ties with global markets, noting that the visit is expected to support several innovative entrepreneurial projects to boost Oman’s economy.
