Oman welcomes US rejoining UNESCO
The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the decision of the United States of America to resume its membership in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) with effect from July.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Oman appreciated for the US move, noting that it reaffirms the country's commitment to international cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.
The statement added that the decision also reflects the United States’ support for UNESCO in its mission to promote peace, sustainable development, world cultural heritage, dialogue among nations and the exchange of global knowledge and expertise.
