Oman welcomes prisoner exchange agreement and return of calm in Gaza

The Foreign Ministry expresses the Sultanate of Oman's welcome of the announcement that an agreement has been reached to exchange detainees and prisoners and restore sustainable calm in the Gaza Strip, paving the way for a permanent ceasefire between the two parties.

In an official Foreign Ministry statement, Oman appreciates the prominent role of the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America, as well as the support provided by brotherly and friendly countries, to reach this agreement. It says this will contribute to alleviating the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.
