Oman's Foreign Ministry expresses its welcome for the call made by French President Emmanuel Macron to halt the delivery of weapons to the Israeli occupation forces amid the ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip.

The Sultanate views this call as an important step within international efforts aimed at stopping the escalating war and protecting innocent civilians from the horrors of the conflict.

In a statement, Oman affirms the importance of the international community taking firm stances to halt the violence and military escalation in the region.

It calls for adherence to international and humanitarian law including stopping all forms of military support that fuel the conflict and prolong human suffering.

The Sultanate of Oman urges all parties to return to the negotiating table and commit to a just and comprehensive political solution that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
