Oman welcomes adoption of UN resolution on legal consequences of the Israeli occupation
Oman welcomes the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution regarding the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice on the legal consequences of Israeli policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territories including East Jerusalem.
In an official statement, the Foreign Ministry said Oman views this resolution as a pivotal step in supporting the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people foremost among them the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Oman also emphasises the need for the international community to adhere to the principles of international law and relevant UN resolutions contributing to the end of the Israeli occupation and the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.
