Oman supports principles of the Non-Aligned Movement

The Sultanate participated in a high-level meeting to mark the 60th anniversary of the first conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

The Sultanate's delegation to the conference, which was held in Belgrade, was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs at the Foreign Ministry.

His Excellency delivered a speech in which he emphasized the Sultanate's support for the movement's basic principles of respecting the sovereignty of states and working to resolve issues by peaceful means, adapted to fit with the contemporary reality of today's world.

The accompanying delegation included H.E. Ambassador Sheikh Salem Almashani, Head of the International Organisations Department at the Foreign Ministry.
