Oman sends sympathies to New Zealand over cyclone

Oman has expressed its sympathy with New Zealand after Cyclone Gabrielle hit several cities.

The cyclone is one of the most destructive storms to ever strike New Zealand. Five people have already been confirmed dead, more than 10,000 have lost their homes and tens of thousands remain without power.

In a statement issued today the Sultanate's Foreign Ministry, Oman sent its sincere condolences to the Government and friendly people of New Zealand as well as the families of the victims of the cyclone. It wished the injured a speedy recovery.
