Oman at ministerial meeting of High-Level Political Forum for Sustainable Development
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Foreign Ministry, participated in the ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, from July 13 to 15, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Omani delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Diplomatic Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry. The ministerial session was opened by Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, in the presence of a number of heads of state, ministers and officials representing member states.
The forum, which comes in the context of the review of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, discusses the effects of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic on the implementation of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

On the sidelines of the forum the President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dr Abdullah Shahid, also received in his office in New York the Diplomatic Undersecretary. Sheikh Alharthy told the President that Oman looks forward to strengthening existing cooperation with the Presidency of the General Assembly and its continuing work to help establish security and peace in various parts of the world.
