Oman participates in ministerial conference of Non-Aligned Movement

The Sultanate today took part in a Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), under the theme: “The Non-aligned Movement at the Centre of Multilateral Efforts in Responding to Global Challenges.”

The Sultanate was represented by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs.

The conference held in Baku, Azerbaijan, began with a recorded statement from Dr. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.

The participants reviewed the progress made in implementing outcomes of the 18th NAM Summit, which was held in Baku in October, 2019.

The Non-Aligned Movement is a forum of 120 world states that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. After the United Nations, it is the largest grouping of states worldwide.
