Oman hotels post 8% rise in revenues

Revenues of three, four and five-star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman rose by nearly 8% in the year to August 2024, reaching approximately OMR 150 million.

This compares to OMR 139 million at the end of August 2023, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information.

This increase is attributed to a rise of 8.5% in the total number of hotel guests with more than 1.4 million guests recorded by the end of August. The occupancy rate also saw growth of 2.3%.

The data shows that the number of Omani guests increased by 7.5%, reaching just over 541,000. The number of Gulf guests rose by 0.6%, totalling more than 140,000.

The number of other Arab guests increased to more than 69,000.

European guest numbers grew by 16.5% and guests from the Americas rose by 3.2%. The number of guests from Africa increased by 3%, while guests from Asia increased by more than 8%. Oceania was the only continent where guest numbers declined, with a drop of more than 27% by the end of August.
