Oman chairs US-GCC meeting in Riyadh
Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, this evening chaired on behalf of the GCC in a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Secretary of State of the United States, Antony Blinken.
The meeting discussed the relations of partnership between the GCC and US and cooperation in the political and economic fields.
There was also consultation and exchanges of views on regional and international issues of common concern. The exchanges were informed by a keenness to support efforts to reach peaceful solutions to issues, in a way that contributes to security and stability.
The meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council and took place at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the GCC in Riyadh, capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, was addressed by the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, Oman's Ambassador to the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ambassador Khalid Almuslahi, Head of Sayyid Badr's Office; Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Almaskari, Head of the Gulf Cooperation Council and Regional Dialogue Department of the Foreign Ministry of Oman, and Ministry officials.
