Oman also delivered a joint statement on UNICEF’s humanitarian work, presented by First Secretary Maysaa Al Shabli, a member of the Permanent Mission.

The statement reaffirmed Oman’s position on the need to intensify international humanitarian efforts to provide urgent assistance, ensuring Palestinian children enjoy their legitimate rights.

During the Executive Board’s review of UNICEF’s disability inclusion policy and strategy (2022-2030), Shunona Alhabsi, Oman’s representative to the Board, emphasised the importance of supporting and empowering children with disabilities and integrating them into society. She highlighted Oman’s initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable environment that enhances their participation.

The strategic partnership between the Omani government and UNICEF serves as a unique model for advancing the agenda of child rights and welfare. It aligns with national legislation on childcare and the priorities of Oman Vision 2040 to enhance children’s development and wellbeing.

This also reflects Oman’s commitment to international treaties and agreements supporting children’s rights in health, education, protection, and inclusion.
