Oman and Spain hold political consultations

The Foreign Ministries of Oman and Spain held a session of political consultations in the Spanish capital, Madrid.

Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs led the delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, while the Spanish delegation was headed by Diego Martínez Bello, State Secretary for Political and Global Affairs of the Kingdom of Spain.

Oman and Spain hold political talks

The session discussed cooperation between the two friendly countries in the political, economic and cultural fields. Both Oman and Spain affirmed their commitment to continuing and strengthening cooperation in line with the visions of their respective leaderships.

The meeting also included an exchange of views and consultations on regional and international issues of mutual interest, with agreement on the importance of deescalation in the region and the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon.

Sheikh Alharthy expressed his appreciation for Spain’s progressive stance on regional issues, particularly its recognition of the State of Palestine. Diego Bello praised the positive role Oman plays in bridging viewpoints and resolving regional issues.

The meeting was attended by Omar Said Omar Alkathiri, Oman's Ambassador to Spain, as well as officials from the Sultanate and Spain.
