Oman and Kazakhstan hold political talks

The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Kazakhstan held a round of political talks in Muscat today.

The meeting reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, renewable energy, tourism and food security. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of current regional and international issues of common concern.

The Omani side was headed by Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, while the Kazakh side was headed by Mukhtar Tileuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

The two Foreign Ministers also signed an agreement establishing an Omani-Kazakh joint committee and a memorandum of understanding on political consultations.

On the Omani side, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Khalid Almuslahi, Head of the Minister’s Office; Ambassador Munther bin Mahfouz Almandhari, Head of the International Organisations Department; Ambassador Sheikh Hamad Alrawahi, Head of the International Cooperation Department;  Ambassador Muhametaliuly Najmuddin, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Oman and a number officials from both sides.
