Oman and Jordan Foreign Ministers hold closed talks
Oman's Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, held a closed session of talks with Ayman Al Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,
The meeting at the headquarters of the Jordanian Foreign Ministry of Foreign Affairs. discussed cooperation between the two countries. Both Ministers spoke of a shared keenness to develop partnership and cooperation in various fields, to the mutual benefit of Oman and Jordan and their brotherly peoples.
The Ministers consulted and exchanged views on current regional and international issues of common concern, affirming their continued support for all efforts aimed at consolidating peaceful approaches to solutions which strengthen security and stability in the region and the world.
Reviewing developments in Palestine, both Oman and Jordan agreed on the need to stop the escalation of violence. They also agreed on the importance of reaching a just and comprehensive solution that ends the occupation and fulfils the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, on the basis of the two-state solution and in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
The meeting was attended by Khalid Almuslahi, the Foreign Ministry of Oman's Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Sheikh Faisal bin Omar Al-Marhoon, Head of the Oman Foreign Ministry's Arab Department; Faisal bin Sultan Alhosani, Chargé d'Affaires of Oman's Embassy in Jordan and Amjad Jamil Quhaiwi, Jordan's Ambassador to Oman. Officials from Jordan and Oman also attended the meeting.
