Oman and Japan hold political consultations
The seventh round of political consultations between the Sultanate of Oman and Japan was held in Tokyo at the headquarters of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Omani delegation was led by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Japanese delegation was headed by Ando Toshihide, Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Director-General of the Middle Eastern and African Affairs Bureau.
The consultations addressed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation in various fields as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Alharthy held a seminar on Omani-Japanese relations and developments in the Middle East.
The event took place at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Tokyo and was attended by a number of Japanese politicians, business figures and academics.
The meetings were attended by Ambassador Mohamed Albusaidi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Japan; Ambassador Sheikh Abdulaziz Alhousni, Head of the Asia and Pacific Department, and a number of officials from both countries.
