Oman and Cyprus hold political talks
The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Cyprus held their fourth round of political consultations at the Foreign Ministry in Muscat.
The Omani delegation was headed by Sheikh Khalifa Alharthy, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs, and the Cypriot delegation was led by Ambassador Andreas Kakouris, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.
The consultations discussed relations between the two friendly countries and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the development of cooperation in all fields. They also addressed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The session was attended by Agis Loizou, the Cypriot Ambassador to Oman, and officials from both Oman and Cyprus.
During the visit of the Cypriot delegation, the Governments of the Sultanate and Cyprus signed an agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent income tax evasion.The agreement aims to encourage investments and enhance economic relations between the two countries.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Oman by Nasser bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Chairman of the Tax Authority, and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus by Andreas Kakouris, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.
