Oman affirms its support for the Arab League on its 80th anniversary
The Sultanate of Oman joins its fellow Arab nations in marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the League of Arab States, a cornerstone of joint Arab action since its establishment in 1945.
Since joining the League in 1971, Oman has remained committed to supporting the principles of Arab solidarity. It has consistently pursued a policy of constructive cooperation with all, and has sought to maintain a balanced approach to regional and international issues. Oman has championed dialogue and diplomacy as key tools for addressing various challenges and advancing peace, stability and development. The Sultanate has actively participated in numerous initiatives aimed at strengthening Arab unity and has worked to support joint Arab action in a way that serves the interests and aspirations of the Arab peoples.
On this occasion, Oman reaffirms its support for the League of Arab States and its backing of all efforts to develop the organisation’s work to keep pace with regional and global developments. It also supports enhancing the League’s capacity to foster Arab integration across various fields, in pursuit of a prosperous and bright future for the Arab world.
