Official reception ceremony held for His Majesty in India

An official reception ceremony was held for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at Rashtrapati Bhavan palace in the Indian capital, New Delhi, to mark the start of his three-day state visit.

President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and wished him and his delegation a pleasant stay. As His Majesty's procession entered the palace gate, a group of knights formed a guard in honour of the High Lieutenant Colonel and a twenty-one gun salute was fired.

Commemorative photos were taken before His Majesty headed to the dais of honour where the national anthems of Oman and India were played. His Majesty the Sultan then inspected the guard of honour.

His Majesty shook hands with senior recipients from India while the President and the Prime Minister welcomed members of the Omani delegation.

The ceremony concluded with the release of a commemorative photo to record the historic visit.
