UNICEF thanks Oman for helping children in Gaza
The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has thanked Oman sincerely for its donation of one million US dollars to help children in the Gaza Strip.
The organisation said the important contribution highlighted the Sultanate's firm position on the Palestinian issue and its support for peace in the interests of humanitarian work and the well-being of children.
UNICEF said Oman’s donation would play a vital role in providing basic assistance to children in the Gaza Strip who face major obstacles such as the lack of food security and limited access to education and health services.
It said the support would enable the organisation to continue its vital programmes and initiatives designed to enhance the lives of children and protect their well-being in Palestine.
Sumaira Chowdhury, UNICEF's Representative to Oman, thanked the Sultanate for its generous gesture. She said the donation would have a moral impact on the lives of many children which would provide them with basic support and hope for a better future.
