Signing Cooperation Agreements with Qatar

His Majesty the Sultan and Emir of Qatar witness signing of cooperation agreements

His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar today witnessed the signing of six cooperation agreements covering military fields, the avoidance of double taxation and prevention of tax evasion, labour, investment, tourism and transport.

The military cooperation agreement was signed by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs and Dr. Khalid Mohammed Al Atiyah, Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs.

The agreement on avoidance of double taxation and income and capital tax evasion was signed by Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance and his Qatari counterpart, Ali Ahmed Al Kuwari.

The two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of labour and human resources development. The MoU was signed by Dr. Mahad Said Ba’Owein, Minister of Labour and his Qatari Counterpart Dr. Ali Said Al Marri.

The cooperation agreement in the field of investment was signed by Abdussalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority and Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mahmood, CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority.

Abdussalam Al Murshidi and Mansoor Al Mahmood also signed the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism and hotels and the agreement on cooperation in the fields of maritime transport and ports.
