“In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
“Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds. In His Holy Book he says: “Hold fast to the rope of God all together and do not become divided.”
“Peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, the trustworthy messenger, and upon his family and his righteous companions.
“Dear guests,
“Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
“Today we gather in these blessed moments of this holy month – the month of Ramadan. Its auspicious spirit promises reward, good recompense, victory and support for every action that aims for the good and the reform of the entire Ummah.
“Distinguished guests,
“The current phase we experience presents unprecedented challenges. It calls on us to unite and support one another. We must intensify diplomatic efforts, consultations and coordination. This will make our actions and positions stronger and more effective. We aim to contain crises and challenges, influence events positively and turn every hardship into an opportunity. We trust in God’s assistance.
“This phase also demands the greatest wisdom. We must prioritise dialogue and diplomacy over aggression, threats and bloodshed. Such an approach safeguards the interests and stability of our peoples and our homelands.
“We witness daily the ongoing escalation by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people. Although efforts have led to a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners, we wish to confirm from this platform Oman's support for these efforts and their continuation. We stand for ensuring that the residents of the Gaza Strip remain on their land. We affirm that Gaza will remain free Arab Palestinian land and an integral part of the beating heart of the proud and resilient Palestinian territories. It will stand against the clutches of the oppressive and transient Israeli occupation forces. We rely on God’s assistance and the power of divine, legal and humanitarian justice.
“Oman confirms the necessity of continuous action to ensure that all relief and humanitarian supplies flow into the Gaza Strip. We must remove every obstacle that prevents a lasting ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces. We must enable displaced persons to return to their homes so they can live normal lives.
“We renew our support for the outcomes of the Palestine Summit held in Cairo [on March 4, 2025], and for the Gaza Reconstruction Plan that was approved. We call on all Islamic countries to adopt it.
“The establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the strongest legal basis and the ultimate platform for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region. Such peace is founded on peaceful coexistence, common interests and sustained security and stability for all. It is in accordance with United Nations resolutions, Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
“Oman welcomes the resumption of the membership of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
“My country also welcomes the convening of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference. This is an important step towards realising the aspirations of the Syrian people for internal national reconciliation, security and stability. We hope that all components of Syrian society will reach the optimal political solution for Syria that preserves the unity of its territories and ensures its sovereignty and security.
“In this context I wish to reaffirm Oman's steadfast position in supporting efforts to lift the economic sanctions imposed on Syria. We support all initiatives that respect Syria’s sovereignty and independence. We also endorse a comprehensive political transition that meets the aspirations of the Syrian people. Foremost among these is ending the Israeli occupation of Syrian territories.
“Allow me to extend my sincere thanks to the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the team of the General Secretariat for their outstanding efforts in preparing and organising this conference.
“We ask God Almighty to accept from us and you the fasting and night prayers in this month of repentance and forgiveness. May our endeavours and good intentions be crowned with success. God is the best helper and supporter.
“Our Lord, we trust in You; to You we turn and to You is our destiny.
“Peace be upon you and God's mercy and blessings.
