Minister receives Afghan Foreign Minister

Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Foreign Minister, received Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, during his ongoing visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

The two Ministers exchanged friendly conversation, recalling the longstanding ties between their friendly peoples and the shared cultural values and civilised traditions of the two countries.

Both Ministers expressed their desire to develop bilateral cooperation in various fields that benefit the two peoples and their friendly countries.

They agreed to promote trade and investment opportunities in food security and other sectors. They also agreed to exchange knowledge and expertise through education and training programmes.

Sayyid Badr confirmed Oman's support for efforts to facilitate Afghanistan's integration into the international community. This will preserve its constructive and prestigious role on the regional and international stages.

The Afghan Foreign Minister affirmed the importance of these meetings in opening new horizons for cooperation between the two countries.

He praised Oman's foreign policy and its approach based on respecting state sovereignty and non-interference in internal affairs. He also commended efforts to enhance regional and international peace and stability and to prioritise dialogue and diplomacy in addressing various issues.

Attending the meeting was Oman's Ambassador at large, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Hinai, and several Omani officials. From Afghanistan, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Muscat, Umar Ghulam Rashool, attended along with a number of officials.
